Although the conditions weren’t ideal with clouds and rain at different times, we were thrilled to experience this activity. Be prepared for the elements! We saw a chilly sunrise through the clouds, and a bike down the mountain that started in sunshine and ended in a downpour. Like the t-shirt says, we survived!

Amazing experience that I would recommend to everyone! Yes, it’s a very early morning but so worth it! You’re provided with a helmet, wind breaker/rain coat and backpack! Our guide offered a ton of information on our drive up to the top of Haleakala. Great jokes too! Once you watch the brilliant sunrise, you’re brought a little ways down and given the bikes. This was SO fun! Self-guided was the way to go; making stops here and there and going at your own pace was the best.

Wonderful day with Eddie Buddy as our guide. Very early start but so worth it. The sunrise from the top of the volcano was magnificent and awe inspiring.
Great easy ride down the hill, stopped at a fruit stand and in the love town of Makwao. Back to condo by noon! Would highly recommend this adventure!
